Chrome Web Store is a good solution for you?
"Is the Chrome Web Store a good way of getting new users to our MMO game?"
This was the question we started to discuss at the office a couple of weeks ago. We decided to investigate a litle bit on how it worked for some other people and what was the main requirements to have our game published there.
How to do it!
After 10 minute of googling we had enough information to start making a beta version of our first chrome-app, so we started as a proof of concept and created the first package in less than 15 minutes.
- First step: Choose your App type
- Second: Create a simple sample app
- Third: Prepare your texts in different languages
- Fourth: Get your images ready to rumble!
- Fifth: Publish!
Voila! TopRacers F1 Manager was ready to be published on the Chrome Web Store.
We started to promote it among our friends to see how it worked.
The results
We were expecting around 20 new daily users from the chrome store which will be a very good number for 15 minutes of work.
Here is a small chart showing the number of daily registrations during the last 20 days, compared with the same 20 days a month before:

The explosion has been incredibly huge, just to show more information about the success we have another chart with the accumulated user during the same days:

As you can see it has been a total success!!, we have multiplied by 7.5 our user registration ratio. We should now wait some days to see if all those users keep playing the game for some time or they are just fast consumers.
We will publish another post with the results and retention of all these users.
